Here are all the items in the Mushroom Kingdom that are either helpful or dangerous.

1-Up Mushroom- A green and white polka-dotted mushroom that gives your character one extra life. Where found: Inside visible and invisible blocks or they can just appear Games: SMB,SMB2,SMB3,SMW,SMAS, SM64
3-Up Moon- Yellow, crescent moon that gives your character three extra lives. Where found: High on a cloud. Games: SMW

A

Anchor- Use this to stop the Koopalings' airships from moving on the map. Where found: At White Mushroom Houses or in Princess Toadstool's letters Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD

B

Bomb- Pick these out of the ground and get ready to get rid of it before it explodes in your hands. These are handy to break through certain walls or defeat bosses. Where found: Anywhere in plain view (has to be pulled out of the ground, though!) Games: SMB2, SMAS
Brick- If Super Mario punches a brick, they either break into pieces or reveal a secret! Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB, SMB3, SSB, MParty, SMBJ, SMAS, SMBD

Cherry - If you collect enough cherries, a Starman will appear! Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB2, SMAS
Coin- These valuable items can be silver or gold. In most cases, collect 100 to gain an extra life. Where found: Anywhere in plain view, inside blocks, or hidden. Games: SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, SMAS, SMBJ, SMBD, MParty, MParty2, SSB, SM64, SMK

Fire Flower- A flower with fiery-colored petals which enables a character to shoot fireballs or flames. Where found: Inside blocks Games: SMB,SMB3,SMW,SMAS,SSB
Frog Suit- This'll change Mario or Luigi into a frog that's able to jump high and swim faster. Where found: In Toad's House and inside treasure chests. Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD

Hammer- Use this to break rocks on the Map Screen or inflict heavy damage on your opponent. Where found: Inside treasure chests, Princess Toadstool's letters, anywhere in plain view, or inside crates or capsules Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD, SSB

Jugem's/Lakitu's Cloud- Allows to bypass an action scene without playing through it. Where found: Inside treasure chests, Toad's House, or from Princess Toadstool's letters. Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD
Jump Block - Jump on one of these and be prepared to be bounce high into the air, or maybe even a cloud bonus full of coins! Some even contain items. Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMW
Jumping Spring- Used to jump great heights or float high up in the air for a short while. Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB, SMB2J, SMAS

K

Key- One of the most important items in any game, Mario-related or not. It opens doors to secret rooms, new levels; you get the picture. Where found: Anywhere in plain view, after defeating Bowser or a group of enemies, inside blocks. Games: SMB2, SMAS, SM64, YI, YS
Kuribo's Shoe- Green, wind-up shoe that the Kuribo's Goomba jumps around in. If you punch the block with him on top of it, the Goomba is ejected from the shoe and its yours to wear. This shoe allows you to stomp on Spinys, defeat Bob-ombs in one hit, and traverse a field of Munchers harmlessly. Where found: A Goomba is wearing it Games: SMB3, SMAS

Mushroom (see Super Mushroom)
Mushroom Block- Used for boosters to reach high platforms or an unlimited supply of weaponry for defeating enemies. Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB2, SMAS
Music Box- Use this to make the Hammer Bros. fall asleep on the Map Screen. Where found: Inside treasure chests or in Princess Toadstool's letters Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD

P

P-Wing- If used, you can fly for an unlimited amount of time until you hit an enemy or other harmful object. Where found: In treasure chests, White Mushroom House, or in Princess Toadstool's letters Games: SMB3, SMBD, SMAS
Potion- If you throw one of these on the ground, a door will appear, leading to subspace. If you throw the potion in a certain area, there will be a mushroom and coins inside! Where found: Anywhere in plain view (in ground) Games: SMB2, SMAS
POW Block- Block that you can throw or punch to knock out all the enemies on the screen. Where found: Anywhere in plain view on the ground or floating in midair Games: SMB2, SMB3, SMAS, YI
Power Star- Looks exactly like the Starman except that it's yellow. When these are found, it can open up doors to other worlds. Where found: Sometimes in plain view, hidden, and some obtained by completing a certain task Games: SM64

Q

Question Block - A block with a question mark on it. When punched from beneath or from the side, it can yield power-ups, coins, or anything else of surprise. Where found: Anywhere in plain view Games: SMB, SMB3, SMAS, SMW, MParty

Radish (see Vegetable)

S

Shell- A part of the Koopa Troopa himself, these can be used as weapons. Be careful, though, because they can ricochet off walls and back towards you! Where found: Anywhere in plain sight, in question markers on tracks, in item crates or capsules Games: SMB2, SMW, SMAS, SMK, MK64, SSB
Small Heart- After you defeat 8 enemies, this may come floating from the bottom of the screen. Grab it to refill one of your energy marks. Where found: Floating up the screen Games: SMB2, SMAS
Starman- A star with two eyes that bounce around a course. If collected, you become invincible for a limited amount of time. Where found: Inside blocks Games: SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, SMAS, SSB Stop Watch- If four large vegetables are picked up within a stage, a stopwatch appears when the fifth one is picked up instead of a vegetable. This causes all enemies to be in a temporary frozen state, but they can still hurt you, though, if you touch them. Where found: When the fifth large vegetable is picked up Games: SMB2, SMBD, SMAS
Super Leaf- Grab one of these and you will transform into Raccoon Mario or Luigi! As this form, you will be able to fly. Where found: Inside blocks, treasure chests, and Toad's House. Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD
Switch Block- Stomp on one of these and it'll make all bricks on the screen turn into coins and vice versa. Where found: Anywhere in plain view or inside blocks. Games: SMB3, SMAS

T

Tanooki Suit- "tanooki" means "raccoon" in Japanese. This will transform Mario or Luigi into a Tanooki. Not to be confused with the Super Leaf, you can also fly, but you can turn into a statue for a limited amount of time, as well, to be invincible to your enemies. Where found: Inside treasure chests and Toad's House. Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD

U

Umbrella- When taken, it helps Yoshi to fall from great heights slowly and lightly. Where found: Next to a cliff in plain view Games: YS

V

Vegetable (also see Radish) - They come in a variety of sizes and looks and are used to throw at enemies in order to destroy them. Wart especially hates these. Where found: Anywhere in plain view. Has to be pulled out of the ground, though Games: SMB2, SMAS

W

Whistle- A secret item, this can be used to transport yourself to the Warp Zone in order to skip worlds. Where found: Inside treasure chests, Secret Toad House, or enclosed in Princess Toadstool's letter Games: SMB3, SMAS, SMBD
