NES Classic Edition Early Bidding Wars

When the NES Classic Edition first came out, all units were scarfed up in seconds from every store. Many of them found their way onto eBay where they were sold for exorbitant amounts above their retail value. For example, this screenshot was taken from eBay in November 2016.

But some auctions were completely outrageous. For example, take a closer look at these listings, which were both from December 2016:

And the fact that there were actually bids on these?!?
