Yesterday, at the GC, a gaming expo in Germany, a new Mario game was announced--the sequel to Super Mario Strikers--Mario Strikers Charged, for the Nintendo Wii. For those who don't know, the 'Mario Strikers' series is basically soccer with Mario and friends. The game was playable.

The most obvious gameplay difference is the fact that you will now be using the Wii's motion-sensor control. Also, the game will work with Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection, meaning you can play with your friends across the world online. Other than that, there were only minor differences to speak of.

There will be twelve team captains: Bowser, Bowser Jr., Daisy, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Mario, Peach, Waluigi, Wario, Yoshi, and two unknown characters. Known sidekickers will be Birdo, Boo, Dry Bones, Koopa, and Toad. As usual, Kritters of DKC fame are goalies.
